Russel Tovey (Henry) is a brilliant actor, I especially loved him in Being Human (UK version) and in Looking. Your comparison to Banana Fish definitely works, and after rewatching this episode of Sherlock, I can see the similarities with both drugs. Sherlock being scared and in doubt is probably one of my favourite scene from Benedict Cumberbartch's acting. It really must have been terrifying for someone who always rationalises things to be faced with these apparently supernatural happenings. Also, the way Sherlock now aknowledges his bond with John saying he's his only friend, warms my heart. But then the way he used John.... oh man... Lestrade showing up was awesome too. Definitely one of my fave characters too. The whole mystery was so interesting, I particularly loved the way the episode was filmed, like a horror movie almost. The scene with Henry and the lights going on and off is truly terrifying... poor guy went through such a trauma his entire life... The way everything was explained at the end was brilliant. Children do have very active imagination and add to that the pure fear Henry felt at this moment, it's no wonder he imagined a monster rather than the truth... also, gas masks are terrifying... can't help thinking of the Doctor Who episode, which was also by Stephen Moffat who is one of the creators of Sherlock (the other is Mark Gatiss aka Mycroft). A fascinating episode for sure! And that teaser for next episode with Moriarty. You are not ready for the next episode...
