God this is such a good episode, from start to finish. Not a slow moment at all. I love how Will just seems so... done with everything (which, thinking about it, goes into the last couple of scenes in the episode...) Like he's really reached a point like "how the fuck did this become my life? when will it end?" and when he bites Cordell's cheek adfhsdhf And the way Hannibal just smiles at him (Hannibal is so in love pls) I like how Alana asks Hannibal to save Will when it probably wasn't really necessary. There's no way Hannibal is going to leave Will to have his face cut off, even if they didn't get past the whole head sawing thing (and I think Hannibal has moved on from wanting to eat his brain at this point), like he absolutely would never let Mason have Will's pretty face... but Alana still gets him to promise and Hannibal "I always keep my promises" hinting back to how Hannibal promised to kill Alana in 2x13 oof Be careful Alana~ I will say I think they DID have the massacre originally planned to be filmed (I don't remember really if they filmed it), it's certainly a shame that we didn't get it because I would just like to see Hannibal going ham (pun intended) on Muskrat Farm, but because of lack of budget they couldn't film it how they wanted to :( So I think while they may have filmed something, they weren't totally happy with it and so decided not to show it in the episode. When Hannibal was carrying Will, the script actually has him carrying Will on his back, but Mads was like "screw that, I'm going to carry him BRIDAL style". Mads truly, through his actions in his acting choices and even in interviews about Hannibal was REALLY pushing this was a romance between Hannibal and Will (there was an interview before season 3 actually where Hugh calls it a "platonic love" and Mads just squinted his eyes and was basically like "ehhhh i don't think so" and the entire place just burst into laughter). God and then... the break up scene. You're right, it really is like a divorce scene. And this goes back to what I said before and Will just being... he's done. He's so over all this. He's tired and he's accepted that he doesn't really want Hannibal dead, but he can't go with him. He's not torn over this, so that's what he basically says. Hannibal's face literally devastates me (this show making us devastated for a cannibalistic serial killer..... eh its okay its fiction!!). He's so hurt. (fun fact, the notebook you see that he was working on was actually... a formula to turn back time. I'm positive that would have in some way come into play in future seasons. I have no idea how, but they would've managed it, I'm sure of it) And then Hannibal is just too smart. He prob sat outside thinking "Hm... how can I do exactly what Will DOESNT want?" and so decided to turn himself in. As both Will and Alana point out (multiple times), Hannibal is always playing. He's enjoyed his life free, he was satisfied enough, but ever since he met Will, he's kinda started wanting other things. I've said it before, but I don't consider Hannibal an actual psychopath because he does have emotions, he just doesn't care about society's laws. So when he turns himself in, he's not even losing. Like Jack says... they didn't catch Hannibal; Hannibal turned himself in and he turned himself in *purely* because now Will will be *forced* to know exactly where he is, what he's doing... he'll easily be able to think of him, know that if he really wants to... he can go see him... And next ep we start part 2. I mentioned it before as well, but season 3 is actually originally both seasons 3 and 4 but because they had a feeling they were getting cancelled after season 3 and wanted a satisfying end, Bryan Fuller the creator decided to condense both seasons 3 and seasons 4 into 1 season. originally, I think this is where season 3 was supposed to end. I think Italy and the Mason story was supposed to last 13 episodes of s3, with the next 6 episodes lasting 13 eps for s4 cuz they had a 7 season plan. But i think they did a great job of condensing what they could into 1 final season (and I'm still... holding out hope for a season 4. I will for as long as I have to). And now... we start the final count down of Hannibal :( only 6 more left TT (also, on the note about fanfic. I love it. my goal is to be an author and I've written tons of fanfic. A couple of Hannibal fics actually, but I've written about 200 over like... 30 or so different fandoms and I have to say, the Hannibal fandom has the BEST fanfictions I've ever read. This fandom has massive talent, its so crazy)
