I don't know if anyone has told you, but the actor playing Lily's ex-boyfriend Scooter (David Burtka) i is actually Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) husband in real life. I like that they use the actors real life partners as cameos. Robin's and Lily's husbands were also on the show.

Haha the first episode is really funny. I love the bond between Barney and his mom, and like you said, Barney got his womanizer ways from his mom. The fake family was such a WTF moment the first time I watched this episode 🤣 but in retrospect, it fits with Barney's personality to put on a show to please his mother. He's a performer a lot of the time in his life after all. Ted's acting was pretty hilarious too, especially Barney's reaction. And Ted got to slap Barney twice gratuitously, Marshall was probably jealous... 🤣 The end scene with Lily pretending to be talking to Marshall's mother is really good too 🤣 Marshall's reactions are just too precious. And of course, love the little foreshadowing of Barney and Robin. Second episode is great too. David Burtka (Neal Patrick Harris' husband) is just so funny as Scooter. And did you notice that he was the waiter during Ted and Karen's date? Love it. Barney is such a kid sometimes, his absolute delight at telling the pants story is both ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. The flashbacks are always fun. And yep, we will see more of Karen to the absolute horror of Lily and Marshall... Anyway, great reaction and can't wait for next week 😁

I love David Burtka's cameo, he's so funny as scooter, especially when we see him as the waiter 🤣

Karen is such a annoying person but omg some of her scenes are gold and how much everyone hates her makes it so much funnier

Without spoiling anything this is not the end of Barney and The Karate Kid on the show, by a long shot.
