Loving your reactions to Gossip Girl. In the first two-three seasons I also shipped Rufus and Lily and Chuck and Blair but in this season I really love Dan and Blair's scenes, their banter and their friendship are so much fun. I like both their storylines, hope you do too.

I never shipped Blair and Chuck together because even when I was young I saw them as a very toxic couple who bring out the worst in each other.

Also I think the whole Blair and Dan thing was planned from the beginning. I mean if you really paid attention to their scenes over the seasons you see a constant gradual journey in them going from enemies to frenemies to friends and then this whole romantic tension~ I think a producer even said once in an interview that this whole thing was planned from the beginning. I honestly shipped Dan and Blair since the scene in Season 1 Episode 4 where they have that conversation in the hallway. I see a natural chemistry between them even when they're arguing with each other

same! i’ve shipped them since that hallway scene in 1x04. this whole dair friendship/maybe more storyline in s4 has been so fun and refreshing. it’s nice to see how much they grow around each other.

The more I rewatch, the more I love the Dan and Blair dynamic and genuine friendship. I do still love Chuck and Blair at times but it’s not healthy. Their moments are nice but when you look at the context (end of season 3) it’s toxic. Everything just puts a bad taste in mouth about Chuck and how he treats Blair. I like the breath of fresh air Dan gives Blair. Throughout this season, Blair has been struggling with feeling weak because of her feelings for Chuck even after what he did. This episode she had a person to confide in and feel comforted by. I’m not even a fan of Dan’s character but they really made him more interesting here. In terms of them being together I think ALOT of fans hated the idea at the time. But my thoughts on the whole Ben thing is mainly: I don’t care😂. He should be moving on with his life and what’s also super weird is the fact he’s starting a relationship with his former student who he was toeing the lines with when she was in school. Like yeah you might not have done anything but it’s still wrong. To come out of jail and continue everything is just odd. And that’s not mentioning the fact her mother put him in jail. It’s all so weird but most of Serena’s storylines are so whatever.
