Thanks for the reaction, I'm really enjoying revisiting these early episodes! They definitely do a great job of selling the bleakness of the situation, and the difficult decisions, but I love that they also make time for nice, warm moments in between (e.g. Adama's speeches, or with President Roslin this episode).

It's funny that Richard Hatch, playing the terrorist guy, was the original Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica in the 70's.
