Elspeth Tirel [Process Timelapse] (Patreon)

Hot off the laptop, I just finished streaming this! About 6 hours condensed to 3 minutes. This recording shows the entire process from sketch and inks, to shading and color.

 It's one of the most ambitious colorings I've attempted so far, but for a game like Magic: the Gathering full of so much beautiful art, I wanted to try something like a Theros land background.

I've been playing Magic since I was a kid, but surprisingly haven't drawn much art of the characters. I was on picarto multistreaming with LoonyJams who was drawing Liliana and Garruk (and does great MtG r34 art), and it reminded me how much I've enjoyed the official card arts of Elspeth Tirel.

This got me started on drawing a whole series of Magic's female planeswalkers. After Elspeth, on the second part of this stream I sketched Chandra, Liliana, Nissa, and Tamiyo, to cover all 5 colors. Then Kiora for good measure!
