October Update | September Vote Results (Patreon)

This month's Timeslots were easy to fill, because your votes decided what I'm working on!

We had a clear standout for 1st place, a three-way tie for 2nd, and a two-way tie for third. Instead of just slotting all of these in for October, I'm dropping the 3rd place choices this month and kicking ahead them to November, (because they got almost as many votes as 2nd place I didn't cut them entirely). Diamond In The Buff Ch 7 will also get the first slot in November, once the conclusion to Size Check 2 is knocked out this month.

I'll do a quick-rundown of what you can expect to see for each Timeslot in October.

Timeslot 1: Color Vote – There are 10 pin-up sketches to choose from, all at the stage of flat-colors with no shading. This vote will determine the order I finish them with full shading (and whether I finish them at all) – I'll only work on the ones that get a decent number of votes to ensure I'm not spending too much time on the less popular stuff.

The vote is open now for Knights and Wardens in the $8 and $12 Tiers.

Timeslot 2: Finish An Old Comic – I left page 12 of Futa's Bounty hanging back in March when I realized 4 full color comic pages in a single timeslot every month was way too much. After keeping up 6 months of a daily colored sketch last year I thought it would be no problem, but didn't think hard enough about the format. I started out using a square-panel webcomic format where every "page" was a 4000x4000 square, and I was putting in way too much detail drawing in photoshop at that resolution, the story was progressing at a snails pace with one panel a week, and I was making every scene a wide shot because a close up felt like it would be a let-down taking up a whole "page" without enough juicy details. I enjoy the new format much more using a standard A4 page to sketch roughly on paper, then finishing the inking in Photoshop. It forces me to limit the detail and adapt to a simpler style, and it's more fun to use panels of varying shapes. Now instead of 4 square pages I'm aiming for 1 standard comic page per Timeslot. Compare the difference between the old and new layout styles:

I'll be using the new style for all future comics, but I'd like to finish the current "chapter" of Futa's Bounty in the square panel format to keep it consistent, so that's what I'll be working on this month!

Timeslot 3: New Comic Page – This one is an exclusive for Wardens Only, a choice between 3 B&W comic pages to decide which to color and which to continue with more pages:

Timeslot 4: Finish An Old Story – You guys have been waiting a long time for this one and I've been feeling a lot of pressure to make it amazing! Writing more Size Check stories is one of my most frequent requests, but this particular matchup has been coming out way too stiff every time I try to write it – and not the good kind of stiff. About six months ago I wrote 25 pages of the Kim vs Felicia showdown, and got stuck again trying to end it without being repetitive or too over the top. Reading it again with fresh eyes, I think I didn't like the corner I had written myself into, but didn't want to throw any of it away, and couldn't find a satisfying conclusion that also included all the options I'd put up for voting. Now it's been long enough that I'm just writing it again from scratch and much happier with how it's coming together! All the false starts on this one were great learning experiences.

Timeslot 5: Audio Episode + Warden Vote – I've been teasing another audio episode for a little while now, but they do take some decent time to edit, and haven't gotten much of a response in the way of likes or comments on them so far (except for Fi~Fi, I know you dig it! ;) So I thought I'd put this to a vote for Wardens, to choose between audio of Diamond In The Buff Ch4, Size Check 3 (First half only b/c it's so long), and The Lifeguard, all of which are recorded but not edited. There's also a 4th option to push the next audio release back to November and use the slot for something else. Knights will get this episode the following month after Wardens. The vote is open now for Wardens Only!
