Sup Rangers!

Here in the UK we're being baked by a record heatwave. I know many of you live in significantly hotter countries so relatively speakin', it may be no thing. However, here in the UK we're not used to it being particularly hot, cold, windy or rainy. We're better at complaining about the weather than dealing with it.

Right now (3.54pm) it's 31°c (88°f) outside and 33°c (91.4°f) in the studio. I got 3 fans pointed at me and 2 pointed at my PC. My studio is in the roof of the house (which has black tiles) and 1 small window. Air Conditioners aren't really a thing here. Tomorrow it's predicted to be 33°c outside.

Spend a full 9 hour work day in this heat up here tomorrow does not sound safe for my equipment. Or me. Finally getting to the point: I'm going to switch the Wednesday and Friday posts. A stream sketch pic on Wednesday and the next "Interlude" comic page on Friday (it needs more hours to complete.)

I hope you're all staying as cool as possible and staying hydrated wherever you are in the world!

TL:DR; Due to record heatwave I'm going to switch the Wednesday and Friday posts. A stream sketch pic on Wednesday and the next "Interlude" comic page on Friday (it needs more hours to complete.)

Oh wow. Yeah, you need to get that space more ventilated. I live on the wet/cool side of the mountains in WA state. We drove over to Wenatchee to buy fruit last week -- it was 33 in Wenatchee and my wife was not entertained. (I am OK in heat as long as it is reasonably low humidity).

As someone also putting up with the heatwave, yeah, that’s understandable!

It's difficult to get enough air in here to cool things - including me! Once all the surge pricing shenanigans come to an end, we're going to invest in some better cooling equipment. Little Witcher's room gets so hot and thanks to our inconsiderate neighbours, we have to keep her windows closed at night. Wenatchee is such an awesome name for a town/city! Must've been good fruit to journey around a mountain for it :)

Watching the temps on my computer was really starting to stress me out! These heatwaves are gonna be far more regular so definitely time to invest in some cooling tech!

Coming from Arizona we had to deal with a lot of heat, and sometimes couldn't get the AC to do enough. But a couple of things will help. Look up the Chillipad or Ooler. It's a thing that goes between your sheet and your mattress that is pumped full of cold water. There's a chiller that the pad is hooked up to. The next thing to look at is a Hush weighted cooling blanket. I didn't find this as effective as the Ooler, but it does help. The bamboo sheets are also supposed to suck heat away from the body but I've never tried them. This is only for stuff to help sleep, unfortunately and is fairly localized to where you can use them, so not good for moving around.

A lot of our cities and rivers have native names (I live in Sammamish, for instance). We actually went across two mountain passes to get there and a third mountain pass to get back. Just running the roads through those passes is called the "Three Pass Blast" and is a frequent day trip on motorcycles. The Cascade Range is the most profound divider in our climate here.
