It was still very early morning, and the sun was low, making shadows very long. At this time of the year, there was only a small difference between day and night. Sun was only visiting below the horizon before coming back up, and there was no real night's darkness. Birds were singing around the day singing and nature was busy. Early villagers prepared the marketplace for a busy day. Others were going for morning milk to the fields nearby. 

Renee was excited and hopeful. She was waiting to meet her new friend and was happy when her figure appeared on the narrow street, bathing in the morning sun. Renee was delighted that she was able to come today. A few times, she could not come, but she said they had problems with hunters entering King's forest without permission. Renee was impressed by the girl whose life was full of adventure. She told many stories about famous people everybody knew. She knew in person Kings commanders Boris and David. Renee loved to listen to stories about them and brave women like Raisa, who had sailed with her husband to many foreign lands. But, unfortunately, Josie didn't know princesses. Renee burned from curiosity to hear how life was in the court, but Josie said that she was just a simple ranger. Renee was always wondering if one day also, Josie would sail with boats and go for the summer adventures to harvest some wealth. When asked about that, she said she had not planned for the trip. Forests were enough for her. 

Renee agreed with that. Those beautiful green eyes belonged to the green forest, not the dangers of the cold sea. Renee loved everything in her new friend Josie, and she had decided to tell her that she liked her and desired a kiss from her lips that looked like they were made for kissing.
