Dulcinea loved attention Sakarias gave her. Her parents were busy finding a husband for her big sister, and she was busy avoiding potential candidates. As a result, she had spent more time in the forest than in the castle. So Dulcinea was bored to stand in the corner and look pretty when the boy’s parents visited them. Naturally, her parents hoped that one of the nobles would have a suitable husband also for her, but all the time, she was extra who was standing on the side like servants.

Dulcinea was not happy. Normal girls choose their boyfriends on their parent’s advice or by themselves. But, at least they had a boyfriend or few to have fun with during the midnight celebration. Parents denied that all from Dulcinea, and they preserved for her husband, and free interaction with boys was out of the question.

Dulcinea was escaping rules and limits by spending time with Sakarias. She loved how he followed her when she worked with plants. Dulcinea did her best to show herself to him. Sometimes she fantasized that she was a normal girl whose lover Sakarias was. She didn’t know if he had a girl in the village, but she would be surprised if there weren’t. She was also wondering what he had experienced on his voyages. Did he have girls there? Or did he take girls from the villages they raid? That made her imagination go wild. She would love to see Sakarias as a hero with a sword and shield.
