“Hi! Are you ready to sail in next season?” Tapani asked Tuija who was happy to see him in the village.

“Always! I was told that your last season was a real spectacle,” Tuija laughed, “and you took fortune and souvenirs with you.”

Tapani smiled and was about to answer but Jorma was faster to open his mouth, “And he is here with his souvenir.”

Now Tuija noticed a woman who was looking at Raisa. She had dark hair, and her skin was brown. Tuija was thrilled to see a foreigner. She pointed her nipples and asked, “She has rings?”

Tapani noded as an answer. His last trip had become a legend that had many versions and was told in many places. Thanks to this, he had more than enough people who wanted to join his next trip. He knew that this would leave some people unhappy because he cannot take all who want’s to come. His foreign wife was another chapter. He had a good number of girls who had hope to marry him. Some of those were from significant families.

“See my friend, we all are focusing on her rings,” Tero said, “We must see how they look. Now, give me your bags, I will take those to the hut.”

Tapani gave his bags to Tero.

“Local girls must have been sad,” Tuija said to Tapani. She knew very well how big hopes many young girls had. Tapani was not turning them down when he had opportunities, and now he appears back as a reaserved man, “Is this the reason why you have been lurking in small villages?”

“I need to repair my boat and build a new one,” Tapani answered quickly, “You know what kind of place my boat builder lives.”

“I’m sure you don’t want to show your face in Jokilinna,” Tuija was continuing.

She was partially correct. Recently Tapani had collected no-go places where he was most likely not welcome, but Jokilinna was only partially that kind of place.
