AUGUST ANNOUNCEMENTS! (Patreon)

Hey all! I can't believe we are already in August. I hope that where you are, the heat isn't too unbearable (or the cold, if you're in the Southern hemisphere--I got that right, right?)

Just wanted to touch base about a few things coming in the near future to patreon, as well as a few changes to one of our tiers.

First of all I'd like to thank you for joining this little patreon of mine. It truly means a lot to receive your support, and I genuinely do feel like I have the best patrons in the world. We have a lot of fun on the discord especially, and that has been a surprising highlight of my day since starting it.

Now, onto business.

COMMISSIONS TO OPEN

Come this Monday (August 7th) I will be opening early access to commissions for patrons*, available to all tiers. I'll make sure to post an updated commission sheet along with the announcement. I'll explain more in depth on the 7th, but a quick rundown: I'll have a limited amount of slots. We're going to start with 3 commission slots, and I will ask that you private message me either on patreon or through a discord DM to ask about availability. This early access will last a week before I open it to the general public (on twitter, bluesky, furaffinity, etc). So please look forward to that.

*In the interest of fairness, and to allow other patrons a chance at having bespoke art, this will not include Micronaut patrons as they already will have a work in progress at all times.

CHANGES TO MICRONAUT TIER

It's hard to believe, but we are in our fourth month of activity and many of you will have finished three months of partying with me. Not least of all are our brave Micronauts. When I started this patreon, I was pushing myself to try and find my limits and my boundaries, and I feel I have more of a handle on how to run the micronaut tier. The prices of the tier will be remaining the same, but the structure of it is going to work a little differently moving forward.

- Moving forward, there will be limits as to how much a Micronaut commission will contain. That is to say, while I've enjoyed doing comic pages, they are quite a lot of work and so the price of the tier will be a limit of a detailed picture along, with a cutaway panel. For an example of this, you can look to my picture of Akihiko Kaji posted a few weeks ago. You CAN ask for detailed comics, but moving forward there will be an extra charge per panel, and that price is dependent (and can be negotiated) depending on it's complexity, as well as the complexity of the overall piece.

- Production on the Micronaut commission will be more spread out. As was the case before, projects move in a three month cycle, $30 a month with a total of $90 for the overall finished project. From now on, the first month of the cycle will be for the sketch, the second month of the cycle will be lines and flats, and the third month of the cycle will be shading and rendering. There are a few reasons why I have made this change. Most notably, it allows me the freedom to work on your piece without having to start and finish it within the last month of your pay cycle. This also affords you the benefit of leaving the tier if money is tight, without worrying about getting nothing worth the money you've paid. It allows you to temporarily downgrade your tier if need be, and still be able to have a finished sketch, or sketch+flats+lines that you can then come back to once to your financial benefit.

I hope that these changes suit you fine! I want to make sure that I don't burn myself out, so that I can deliver quality products to you, as well as quality overall patreon works.

DISCORD ART SUGGESTIONS

On our humble discord, there are now threads in each tier'd section, that allow you to suggest scenario ideas for future works. If you have always loved the idea of someone pinning someone else beneath just their fingertips, then you should let me know! I can't promise that image will appear in my next work, but I can say that it's a lot more efficient for me to brainstorm ideas for art if I have an archive I can card through, to get to know the taste of my patrons.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Obviously Twitter is in a dire state. (I refuse to call it X). I'm trying to branch out my reach, so as to achieve more steady footing and hopefully not risk shadowbanning at the mere mention of a pants bulge. So far, Bluesky seems to be what everyone is flocking to, and I've gone there as well. It is still in beta (I think?) so it is running off a waitlist and invite system, but if and when you do decide to check it out, my handle is @rinzlerjack.bsky.social.

AUGUST POLLS

Arguably the most exciting bit of news!!!! We will be putting up not one poll, but two. August is my birthday, you see, and as a gift to myself, I am going to be putting up a "Rinzler's Favourite Men" poll shortly. But other than that, we will be doing our regular poll as well. As it's my birthday month, this month there is no required theme for suggestions. It's a free for all, so if you have suggestions, make sure to head to the discord poll suggestions area and drop your suggestion to me! And starting September, we will be hitting spooky season as far as I'm concerned, so...just let that sink in, and do with it what you will.
