Actually, I've had Earl's reformation planned for... a really long time? I don't know why I didn't post it earlier. But since I'm working on the comic now, I might as well take some time to get your opinion.

The original reform I had in mind was this:

It's not super different from before. She basically keeps the shorts, (she redirects all of her pink color to make them, which is why she's back to mostly greyscale) and gives herself some poofy sleeves as a callback to the sweater she used to wear in season 1.  (There's also a very obvious other detail to her outfit that's a bit tongue in cheek.)

Now that I'm actually drawing the comic, though, I'm getting other ideas and here's another option:

The hair things were an inspiration from previous sketches because I've always wanted to add something to her hair, make it a little more free/messy. The sketches show it a little more fluidly:

Idk, what do you guys think? Comment or vote in the polls below! (ideally both.)

I love the pink shorts with the knee socks!!

Lopson

The great thing about gems is that getting them to change their outfits is easy planning-wise.

She's so cute with the lil loose hair idec what she's wearing, Earl with lil curlies is life

I think you should unwind the buns a bit instead of just adding the spirals. Make them wavy, maybe? I’ll try to find an example

Maybe braid them? https://images.app.goo.gl/UEBUnX5LbA9rtTnx9

I like the second design mostly, but I think Earl would look cute with bangs.

I like the hair thingies but I do think they break up the shapes a bit too much. Maybe if you added a similar small detail shape near her feet? Idk, it's not the end of the world, and they're so cute that it really doesn't matter too much

Rynna Nguyen

I like the hair thingy. It shows she is slowly taking things she like and makes it her. It is her first refirm so make sense she doesn't our right redo her hair but thinking about it. Live outfit like she takes things she likes and those are from Steven too!!! May be something happen (steven plays with his hair and her maybe) and she starts to do difference hair (variation of 2 buns?)

Marcello Pellegrino

I like the first design, as the hair thing I don't know, I'm not a fan in the full-body picture but they look good in the sitting one. Maybe because they look poofier and connected with the rest of the hair.

Lake Jamieson

The second one seems more Earl to me, the stockings with the shorts make for more definition in the legs, and I love the idea of the little hair accents adding a bit of muss to her otherwise perfect hair. Love it!

Jayne Lindgren

I like the second one! The black on the torso and stockings helps unite her central line, and helps make her arms and legs stand out from each other in the sitting picture. I think the first one would be a little too much grey.

poofy sleeves

TheChekhov

I love the designs! I've seen a lot of those redesigns for Pink Pearl, and the only reason I'm avoiding them is because I don't want to copy... Plus they're hard to draw every single time. 😬

I like both, but I say second because the stockings help with the messy/free look for the hair. (They seem less formal)

I like the first one's leggings with the second one's shoes! I like that the leggings disappear in the shorts, which draws attention to them, I think! With the hair, I like it! With changing your form, that is a decision that is uniquely up to the gem, so maybe it would comfort Steven to have Earl choose something so unique, as well as making the shorts permanent and the puffy sleeves. Plus, so fashionable! Can't wait for his reaction. Overall, they're both great designs but I really like the first one's leggings with the hair! Whatever you choose though, I'll still continue to absolutely eat up this amazing comic!! <3

I like the second design *BUT* I prefer the thinner way the sleeves are drawn in the sketches.

Maybe you should make her hair shaped like roses

second design by a mile

i like the second design, though, the hair things i think don't really add much. perhaps if you had the buns a bit messier OR just one bun entirely, it would look nice! also, one thing: the whole reason why she's greyscale doesn't make any sense, due to gems only having their colors to work with and rarely pulling something else out (i.e. garnet never had yellow in her visor until recently). it makes more sense if you make the pinks duller if you REALLY want to keep that kind of thing. here's what i mean!! i still love your work and would totally understand if you didn't do what i suggested though: https://puu.sh/Exd2z/b8116fa5cf.png

Hi! I'm new to this but I was like "why not support an awesome artist and see the cool design now?" so here I am lol

I like both but I think I would lean toward the first design with a little bit of messiness to her hair to show that she really is her own pearl and starting to find what liberation means in her own way? but I also think I like the first design because it goes with the cool older aunt/adopted mom vibe she has going with steven. the second design is so cute and fun, but kind of makes her seem a lot younger with the knee high socks. but if that vibe works well with the storyline then I'm excited to see where that leads us

The second design is great! i would mess up the buns even more tbh! Give her a wilder look/make the buns a bit more like steven's hair rather than perfect circles.

I love how both designs are shaded using pink, I think the hair twirls look super cute in the sketches but out of place in the full render
