Wow Steven and Amethyst have a very different relationship in this. I mean duh but it's similar enough on the surface that I barely noticed that Amethyst is basically treating Steven like an equal in ways that canon Amy doesn't until after Smokey Quartz. Then there's the total absence of Rose based emotional baggage. They're basically just friends/siblings here.
