The End of Season 1 is nigh! (Patreon)

Still, that's fine. I'm not trying to please someone. I'm just having fun.
I tried to make this wrap-up for Season 1 as smooth as possible, but maybe you'll criticise me for it. It does feel clunky. Don't worry though - it's not the end, and there's always room for improvement.
And THAT is the end of Season 1!
A few questions that I feel are probably on people's minds
Q. Did Steven warp to Beach City?
A. Yep.
Q. Will be meet the Crystal Gems??!?!
A. Yep.
Q. Wait, is Steven separated from Pearl now?!
A. Yep. Weird as it sounds, from about 2-3 weeks ago, I've planned to separate them for majority of season 2. In fact, the driving plot force will be Steven looking for Pearl. The reason for this is that - as long as he's with Pearl, he will always be concentrating on her abilities over his own.
In any good story, you need a good balance of conflict and the ability to resolve it. At least to some degree. Even though this is an AU, there are things I want to keep the same for the sake of giving this story the same home-like feeling that the canon SU gives us.
However, there is one big difference. Canon!Steven grew up in Beach City surrounded by magic and reassured by his family that he is, in one way or another, special and important. He struggles with the pressure of having to grow into that role, but he is ultimately never worried that he is insignificant. On the contrary, his significance is something that is his greatest fear, so to speak.
I wanted to make White!Steven the antithesis of this without destroying Steven's original personality. WD!Steven struggles, instead, with the burden of insignificance. He has never had the support and reassurance of family like Canon!Steven has, and his demons are different. They are actually quite the opposite.
I have no plan to make Steven innately 'different' from canon - Steven, as far as I'm concerned, is always Steven regardless of the circumstance of his genetics. However, WD!Steven has a very different upbringing and I'm really looking forward to how that meshes with the standard 'Beach City and the Crystal Gems' setting.
