Mass Effect: The Warlord (Patreon)

After the destruction of the Collector Base beyond the Omega-4 relay, Shepard and the crew aboard the Normandy found themselves with more questions than answers. Even though the Collectors perished in the exploding that destroyed their base, small pockets still littered the Milky Way. 

The crew found themselves needing answers, partially the Salarian, Mordin who was unnaturally obsessed with studying the mysterious aliens in greater depth. He was particularly interested in understanding how the Queen controlled and commanded her hive. 

Shepard herself knew that the fight was far from over and the Reaper invasion was closing in every second. Thus it was agreed that they’d seek out a lost Collector group. However despite all of the teams experience and Cerberuses vast financial resources these aliens proved hard to find. 

That was until the Illusive Man sent out confirmation that he had been in contact with a group of Krogan pirates who had stumbled upon a collector hive in the early stages of development. 

Pushing her anger and frustration aside that, once again, the Illusive Man had gone behind her back, Shepard knew this was her best chance to study a living Collector Queen. Reluctantly she agreed to Cerberus’ help and sent the infamous Chief Karbox and his band of raiders into the hive to capture them a piece of the puzzle to help defeat the Reaper Invasion.

Genuinely I couldn’t be happier with this set. It was a very ambitious one and during the early stages I feared I couldn’t pull it off. But boy did I. I feel that pretty much everything came out just as I wanted or better. From the new krogan model and his new pp model I’m using, to the sections with Shepard and Blasto. Everything just worked.

One of the things I wanted to utilise with this set was different locations. Since I had the entire crew deck to use and Miranda’s office, I wanted to have the action take place over multiple locations with different lighting to make the set feel and look different. From the heavy orange tones to the soft purple and a pale blue. The different colours help keep everything fresh.

When it comes to the poses, I followed on with my approach that I used in my last RE set - by telling a story through the poses. Just like last time it worked out really well here. I loved the opening with Shepard and Blasto and the BJ section with Miranda. I also worked on my moneyshots for this set and I think it really played out well. The shot of Miranda’s face covered with coom is just *cheif’s kiss* perfect imo.

Much like my ‘Malfunction’ set from last year - which was, imo, my best set in 2023 - this set could be my best of the year if I can’t top it.
