BOHICA News: May 2021 (Patreon)

Hey! Been awhile! 

Some exciting new announcements for BOHICA News these days! More books are being worked on for print-- these will be distributed among qualified Patreon members (which is almost everyone at this point... thanks for being such loyal and devoted supporters!) and because these copies will have real cardstock covers and ISBN barcodes and everything, I will try to hit up local booksellers as well to see if they're interested. It's also much easier to make things available through retailers when you have that official barcode thing going.

2 More Books are also being made; "Line of Departure" and "Fallujah". I've been sharing updates on these and will continue to do so. 

Patreon Changes:

Some changes have been happening  at the Patreon page. There's been a lot more new media there, such as videos showing my art in progress, and a new regular feature called "WIP Wednesday". "WIP" is "Work-In-Progress" and it's a sneak peek at comics and other projects that are on the way. Usually these are pieces of a comic snipped away and shared without context, but sometimes they are full videos of art being done.  I've been doing some WIP Wednesday off-and-on at my Facebook and Twitter pages but it is at Patreon where these are guaranteed (and, if I show the same WIP Wednesday at different sites, the Patreon site will get it first). 

Videos of any sort are rarely shared outside of Patreon, and when they are, it is after they have already been shared weeks earlier at Patreon. 

Speaking of Upcoming media... 

Here's a look at things that are definitely scheduled for Patreon for the next few weeks. There's going to be more stuff posted; some things are still being put together and I have a video that is yet to upload, but this is stuff that is 100% done and already scheduled to post-- this is "in the can", not "in the plan". 

There's a lot of art and articles that are ready but I just haven't had time to load them into Patreon's scheduling queue just yet, so there's more to come. 

Special feature: 

There's a "Special Feature" listed called "Cursed Images from the Army's 'P.S. Magazine'." scheduled. The Army's famous "PS Magazine" will be satirized by me in a few upcoming special features. These are technically "original comics" but they won't be the "Patreon Exclusive Originals" since they will probably, eventually, be shared in a few months. But they should be good for a few laughs.

Patreon-Only Original Comics have been created twice now, and that will continue in the future. Another POOC is in the early creation stages.  

Don't Forget:

The Pritzker Military Museum and Library will feature a collection of Bill Mauldin's comics from wartime to peacetime. BOHICA Blues is featured as one of the modern inheritors of the Mauldin "veteran cartoonist" legacy, so support them and go to the exhibit in Chicago or see one of their off-site exhibits when the feature goes on tour!
