I started another Empires-based story (or at least I tried to start one) for a fanzine called "Mythagoras" in Tampa, FL. Above was an advertisement in Yarf! for that story and fanzine. "Mythagoras" was trying to be a sort of "East Coast Yarf!" that would publish stuff a bit more artsy in flavor. The 'zine published only three issues before it failed (due to the printers closing down and not releasing the originals or refunds; it was pretty shady). I tried to continue the story in the APA/Fanzine "Huzzah!" later but again it didn't last long. In fact it was as I was stretching myself to do this story as well as (and after) "Ace of Spades" that I realized that I really, really wasn't deeply invested enough in the "furry" genre to really pursue it.

I had T-shirts for sale as "swag" back in the day! Of course I don't recall that we calle dit swag back then, just the boring old "merch". I actually still have a couple of these kicking around in a closet somewhere. The art in the lower right was done by Dave Bryant, a frequent collaborator. Obviously for this and the aforementioned "Mythagoras" I have blurred out the addresses because nobody even remotely connected to these projects are at these addresses any more. Seriously, it was 1993.

A great piece of fan art by "Dean J". It shows Sergeant Nile with her anti-tank launcher in wait. This ran in a Yarf! issue but I forget which one.

A guy named "Avi Melman" did a story called "Nitrocoon" that ran in the pages of Yarf! at one point. He had a character named "Foxfire", a female fox with unruly blond hair, black shoulder pads on her uniform, and other elements that made her a pretty obvious derivative of my character, "Barona". I thought it was funny and did this drawing, which got put on the inside back cover of a "Yarf!" issue. Avi went on to do some really great stuff over the years.

Enough for now. Until later!
