The Season 1 finale is here, and man, it was fantastic. We NEED S2 ASAP! For real, I need more of this phenomenal mystery anime. I was so happy to see Maru beat the crap out of Robin, dude. That guy sucks, and now we learn he was running experiments... damn, where is this going to go next?

I guess she might have had some before that, we didn't get to see. But if you rewatch the maneater crash scene you can see the wounds she gets is where she is scarred up.

Remember the doctor earlier with the girl turning into a Hiruko. He had a button from there. Maybe he's Shiro? And the girl might be Mimihime? Only reason I can think of as to why they'd put that scene with her giving him the button.

Yeah, they tried hard giving us the hints about the couple. If you look back and rewatch the season knowing this, every sentence they said are very heart-broken(about he would never hurt her and lock her in a room etc.).

I should give HD my personal best in the Spring season and I'm buying the BDs and books to support the creators, it's been such a treat and luxury to have this kind of adaptation works. I'm spoiled by the whole season and I just feel the final episode was a bit unsatisfying since we're in the low mood of both past and future sides and have more questions than answers. According to the rumors and what is set up in the end, I'm optimistic about the sequel, but we have to wait a rather long time due to the source material. Again, kudos to Production I.G and Ishiguro sensei. For people who are impatient for the next, I highly recommend checking the manga. And the second reading/watching of this show is GOLD, once you have the answers, you see the previous scenes and lines differently. What an unique experience.

I need to read the manga now but I know since its still ongoing, the manga started in 2018 and there are only about 50chs I'll catch up quick even if I re-read from the start

It's better to read from the start, the narrative is quite different and the anime has deleted, added and arranged scenes, lines and details, knowing already the whole story till the very end(told by the author). This story need to be re-read multiple times anyway to fully understand lol
