imo kanas toxicity and self-centeredness takes center stage here. shes never expressed feelings to aqua, and hes never done anything to express feelings to her yet she holds a grudge over something that she has no business caring about. aqua is manipulating kana because she was basically on the path to throwing the performance over her own problems rather than setting them aside for the better of the group. sidenote: i choose to believe that pieyon is the squad leader from kaguya lol

It's still manipulation, though, and dishonest. I understand why he did it, though. Yeah, I feel you. Her flaws are coming through like a lot of the other characters in the show. I think that's partly why I enjoy it so much. The characters feel real.

I wouldn't call Kana self-centered. Quite the opposite, she's extremely insecure and self deprecating, which is why she is hurt all the more about seeing someone she has feelings for romantically involved with someone else If anything I think Aqua has far worse traits. He uses and manipulates people for his own goals, despite the mixed signals he sends out. Can't really blame Kana for acting the way she does toward him.

okay but she hasnt shared those feelings with him, so she has no right to act like this. aquas manipulation usually is bad but in this instance hes doing it to try and ensure that kana doesnt run b komachi into the ground by being hung up on her own problems rather than trying to set them aside for the good of the group. self-centered may not be the right term but she was going to be putting the festival performance at risk because of her own hangups which is what i was getting at.
