THIS WAS SIIIIICK! I LOVED THIS FIRST EPISODE, DUDE! It's right up my alley. I did see the twist coming, but I can understand how some didn't catch it. I'm just loving the overall vibe in this first episode. Who else is excited?

They both activated spells at that final moment, Corpse God had that unknown spell, and Shagrua had a ring of magic circles around him. I guess that’s how they were making what Polka said ambiguous to set up the twist.

I feel like it was obvious in that moment since they focused on the spell Corpse God was activating. They made a point to have Shagrua not recognize it. That's why it stood out to me more.
