THIS is WHY Vinland Saga is such an amazing seinen series. The character development, characterization, and depth is ON POINT! The characterization of Kitel was amazing to witness, and I am so curious to see if the truth will come out. Thorgil's inclusion is very interesting. Especially after learning about Kitel. It makes so much sense why he wants to keep Olmar from war.... he seems himself in Olmar and fears for him.

Great episode, it revokes one of the main themes of the series: how people deal with the violence when facing it. For Kitel, even though he’s been kind, he couldn’t do anything about it, he scared of it(his own son). What’s the answer to it for Thorfinn and how he founded it, is what Vinland Saga all about.

at the end of the episode when ketil was venting to arnheid, she was just staring at the wall and you could clearly see she was just telling him what he wants to hear.
