Yo, this episode was amazing. Prince Canute's rise to power and seeing how much he has changed was something else, man. I wonder if Thorfinn and him will reunite at some point, and maybe Thorfinn will join his side. It was awesome to see Thorkell again, too! Oh yeah, screw that dude Floki. LMAO! What did you think of this episode? Let me know in the comments.

I actually realized this after watching this episode again, but I think I know how canute killed them, with the help of some traitors, through a classified "illness". The clues to my theory are the highlighted scenes where canute proposes to the Lord of Mercia to kill his king and when the series tells us how the king and his son both died of a "illness". In both scene's we can see a "silver" looking cup, yeah i know could be poison right? But the thing is that they didnt announced that the cause of there death was due to poison. That fact makes me believe that the real reason is the cup itself, in roman times many aristocrats died to the fact that they drank out of a "lead" cup repetitious because lead is is actually very toxic combined with corrosive alcohol. So I believe that Canute managed to let them die by a "illness", because the English did not know how their kings actually died, just by drinking from said lead cup itself.

That whole "lead" cup stuff also gets highlighted in Assassins Creed Valhalla and the series Vikings

Thor kill is the type of character where are opinions are really opposite of each other. I really don’t like berserker type characters just just like violence, I don’t mind characters that love to fight but not simply for blood, but for the joy of a challenge. Thorkill irritates me so much. I might be in a negative mood or something but sick of time skips being used for character development, it’s lazy writing and makes it so easy to be like oh they went through something hard and bam now they are a completely different person, completely skipping over the process. Might just be my view of what I believe good writing is. I personally like seeing small changes over time, it’s much more interesting and you see the individual steps that they learn along the way. With this type of writing in Vinland saga it feels like new characters are written and really destroys my investment. I really hope we don’t have this 3 year time skip for thorfinn too or I’m done with this series. Doesn’t make series bad, just hard to enjoy with all these large time skips every few episodes.

I'm confused. Thorkell is the same. He didn't change during the time skip. There was really only one time skip. It was the 3 years Canute became the king. We are experiencing those 3 years on the farm with Thorfinn and Einar. I don't think they are going to skip the farm stuff since Thorfinn is the main character, or at least I hope they dont. I'll also say if the time skip complaint was about Canute, we saw the major turning point for him at the end of S1. I get what you're saying, though. I like Thorkell because he is just fun and obnoxious, lol. I think he does it for the thrill of it, and it's ingrained in him due to being a viking.

I was referring to Canute, his character took a 180 and it’s like he’s a different character altogether. I just don’t like it, really pulls me out of story when we don’t see the transition very well. A person doesn’t change like that. For a series about character growth it’s extra bothersome and unacceptable to me.

Maybe I just need to move on lol, I can get caught up in this kid of stuff. I just want more series to show growth and not use big moments or time skips as an excuse for characters development. Re zero is an example of what I personally like. You know what, I’m just going to move on, I’m getting caught up in one element.

To clarify in re zero, minor Spoilers for people who haven’t seen it. The MC goes through many harsh times and it’s gradual change and it’s shows the grown in his slight changes over time and when you look back you see the massive growth.
