Tbf black clover caught up to manga so had the hold off, creator didn't want to ruin pacing and/or add filler.

Black Clover is pretty great. First 30 or so episodes are a little rough to get through but I think the director was taking that time to figure out how he wanted to go through with the entire anime. Turns into a really great show tbh and I think you would enjoy it. :D

Just pick your poison, both shows are loved. For myself at this age don't care about either show that much anymore.

All comes down to how much time you wish to spend on it. It'll take years to watch all of One Piece, especially if you're devoting time for all the new shows that come out.
