Yeah, Muzan is an asshole. Don't assume he cares about anyone but, himself. All his demons are literally mistakes and failures in his eyes. He keeps the Ums around because they can be useful. But, if they fail once they're taken out behind the shed. But, i think this is a good idea of how fucking monstrously powerful Muzan is. Akaza literally won the lottery by not getting merked on the spot by Muzan. Dealing with Muzan it's RNG one minute he's content, the next you're butchered alive because you contradicted him.

Some parts of the movie was still here like bringing the last messages from Rengoku. They did change the interaction with Tanjiro and Rengoku's dad from the movie. It was different, maybe saving some parts for later like what you were asking about. Your face when Zenitsu was being honest about not being able to do anything with Nezuko yet :D. I feel as Rengoku was so flashy with his fighting, that our new Hashira is more tricks and stealth attacker as he is a shinobi. So his fighting style might be more assasination than just straight up honest duel.
