Thanks to Parker for the support and recommendation on this one! I do enjoy retro series, so it was fun watching this one. I found out these OVAs are from the mid-90s! Love the vibe I got from this one.

I am glad you liked this show! Gunsmith Cats is done by Kenichi Sonoda. It is a long running manga series dating back to the early nineties. Sonoda loves cars and guns. But, because guns are illegal for civilians to own in Japan, all he has are model weapons. His also a big fan of American action movies, and you can see the influence, even in the short ova. Despite it only being three episodes long, Sonoda and his team went to great lengths to make sure everything in the manga and anime was as accurate as possible. Even traveling to Chicago to a police department, firing real weapons, and driving around in a real Shelby GT 500 and recorded its engine sound for the show. All to accurately depict the setting. Also, Gunsmith Cats is one of the few animes where I think the English dub is actually better than the sub. For the next episode, I recommend checking out the dub, just to see which one you like. :)

I definitely see the action movie influence. I'll watch the next one with the dub, but subtitles on still. ;)
