I know, I know...the anime is rearranging events, but I still enjoyed this first episode of Peachboy Riverside. I am digging the world so far, but I'd love to learn more about it. I also looked up the Peach Boy lore and it seems a boy is born from a peach, but has powers and is hero. Interesting stuff.

Careful, Japan, you're animating too many "bunny girls" in recent times, your next favorite fetish is showing... though it's hard to pin down exactly where it falls given we have 2 notable furry versions (Frau & Haru (Beastars)), and/or partial demi-human variants, or even just girls wearing bunny suits! Hahaha

I don't mind "being thrown right into it" with events out-of-order, personally, so long as the storytelling isn't overly complicated or the shift in sequence ruins certain elements, as sometimes there are series that feel like it "takes too long" to get to anything that matters, or seems interesting, even just on a premiere basis so this change-up didn't rub me the wrong way as an anime only watcher~

I can see what you mean about the character designs, definitely detailed with some vague Plunderer vibes, but you know, as a pervert, I do appreciate the attention given to accentuate Sally's proportions when the scene calls for it~ Haha Hey, that octopus/tentacle "imagination" might not have just been her "first thought" of a wandering mind, this series is sorta out-of-order, so the possibility she was caught by a tentacle monster while she was still a princess is real, considering it showed her with long hair that's only been seen in flashbacks! XD

And so, the series' tone shifts as hell breaks loose, blood is spilled en masse, children are obliterated, the OST picks up to increase the sudden shock & hype, censorship of the brutality are nonexistent, Frau stakes her own life to repay her "carrot debt" by protecting Sally, as well as the sheer unhinged glee/excitement in Sally's expression comes to light in the face of Sett's danger... fuck, a solid premiere that makes me crave more, plus the folktale of Momotarou was damn interesting enough already, but this "what-if" is straight fascinating!
