From what i understand ( and read a little bit about it) Its something like the Story from " Magical Girl Site". Normal People in the Real World gain some Unnatural Superpowers due to some Powerful Supernatural Beings in the Background. They still live in the Real World, but they stuck in the " Game", so there normal Everyday Life is pretty much fucked up know ^^ But in this Story, apparently even if some Unknown Supernatural Beings Pull the Strings behind it all, they at least try so Hide those Big Events and try to not Cause to much unnecesarry Deaths from Civilians who arent involved in it ( Well i still wonder how it will be handled with the Death of the Police Officer in EP1) There is apparently a lot of interesting Things that happen later on in the Manga, so i cant wait to buy this Story too. Edit: I think the MG was an Russian PKM Machine Gun. A MG in Caliber 7,62 × 54 mm R with 650 Rounds per Minute.

The "if she was a male she would be a good candidate" line from the girl watching the battle royale reinforce my belief that this is all a way to evolve the human species. Because if I remember correctly, in Darwin's theory of evolution the males are the one who make the specie evolve by being born with a good new characteristic and then fucking every female to pass this gene to the most children possible.
