So it's never been talked about a whole lot, but it seem that Kayaba uploaded his conscience, himself per say, to the virtual world, most likely tying his existence to the "Seed" that he entrusted to Kirito, which was uploaded to the internet and caused GGO and so many other new VRMMORPGS to sprout up. So he's sorta transcended into a higher plane, but seems to enjoy being a spectator and watching things play out, especially when it comes to stuff he's invented, whether it was initially discarded or incorporated into brand new tech. Cardinal System, Ordinal System, Medicuboid, and more... Our boi Kayaba was an unparalleled genius, that's for sure.

"Super Ultimate Fanservice," works quite well to describe the Everyone vs Floor 100 SAO Boss, my guy~ What's so goddamn cool about this movie is seeing a bunch of Floor Bosses from SAO that never were shown in the series, and I do believe, if Kirito hadn't found Kayaba's true identity on Floor 75 and the SAO players had to clear the 100th floor... no one would have survived, given how insanely tough that enemy was for characters from all sorts of VRMMORPGS banded together lol
