Although it may feel like filler at times, Signs of Holy War is actually canon. It's like the little time of peace they have right after the whole Hendrickson battle.

Makes sense. It also helps to correct some issues from s1 and also build up the plot for S2. Little secret...I finished all four episodes yesterday and I really enjoyed it.

I mean, there's around a 2 1/2 to 3 year gap inbetween Season 1 and Season 1.5 productions, so that A-1 Pictures had plenty of time to improve their overall production quality. Lol
