Hey Deep Peeps,

We were thrilled to see your wonderful masterpieces fly into our inbox this past week! We hope you had fun, and we’d like to give a huge thanks to all of our fans who reached out and sent us your work. Take a closer look at the artworks and learn more about the artists and their inspiration below.

Thanks again for sharing your artistic creations, and we'll have another coloring challenge coming your way soon!

Art therapist and art-based researcher Erin Partridge is a long-time fan of KQED –– "I'm a subscriber to all the great podcasts!".  Like many of us during the pandemic, she's been staying at home –– but with two parrots who "LOVE the realities of work from home life. They think all the video conference calls and video teaching is just for their amusement." Her artful drawing collage –– featured above –– was inspired by the "upswing in birdwatching during this time and how hopeful that makes me. And also about how we're all seeking out ways to find comfort, to feel secure, and to take care of our families or communities: our own 'nests' of sorts."

17-year-old Arina Maity sent us this vibrant submission all the way from Kolkata, India. "Since I love to observe plant and animal behavior, Deep Look has always been one of my favourite channels. I've got to know a lot of bizarre facts about nature. I am really feeling blessed to add colours to the falcons as I love birds flying with colours."

A young Canadian artist and graphic designer, Marvin Tang, sent in some original work to us! He uses digital software like Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to "draw anything in front of me with a unique style that I have come up with on my own. It mostly it reassembles cubism and abstract." He's inspired by a wide range of themes, including "animals, mythology or anything from fantasy."

Noemi Bolivar hails from Florida, but she's currently a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. She's just a semester away from graduating with a degree in Wildlife Ecology, "which I hope will open doors for me to better assist in repairing local habitats wildlife populations."

I've always been captivated by birds, especially raptors. They are literally dinosaurs that live among us, and we get to watch them every day. I find the peregrine falcon to be especially awe-inspiring in the way that its body is so fine tuned to harness physics to its advantage."

Eight-year-old Joshua from Vashon Island, Washington used crayons for his work of art:
