Hello Friends!

It's almost been two years since turning to full-time freelance art as my primary income, and it has been a wild ride. Dealing with a pandemic and other crazy changes around the world definitely wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did without your help! So reflecting on my successes and failures, it's long past time since I optimize my freelance career for success.

Before I get into the nitty gritty, I need to hold myself accountable. These changes will require more focus on regular content drops from me. Such as sketches, work-in-progress, timelapse, and streams. The stuff that I do to promote the work and keep you all informed on what I'm working on and when to expect the content. If you are in the Spellbound discord server, you know that's where I post all that stuff when it is immediately available. I want to bring all that back to patreon weekly or bi-weekly, depending on how much I get done. Because as I'm sure most of you are aware, my consistency is all over the place, and I'm always fighting to stay on that regular monthly upload release schedule.

Moving on, I've been saying for a few months now that some changes to the Patreon Tiers, rewards, and milestones are coming. I have decided to adjust and add some tiers with new rewards to serve my most enthusiastic supporters better. A Spellbound Patreon Overhaul!! These are changes coming to the page starting in February.

First, the most drastic change is that the $1 tier will be transformed into a tip jar tier, where fans can support my work on a "I like your work enough to throw some pocket change at it!" basis. The rewards previously included in the $1 tier, such as works-in-progress and random sketches, will now be available in a new $7 tier, along with timelapses of completed images and pages. It is long past the time I reassess the value of my work and price it accordingly.

It is important to note that the comic tiers are NOT changing. The $3 and $5 tiers will remain essentially unchanged. High Res monthly images will now be accessed at the $3 tier and up. The short comic access remains at $3, and the main comic remains at $5, so if all you pledged for is comics and pinups, you will still have access. These new tiers are options for people who want to support me further.

In addition, I will be introducing a $10 tier that will focus on Special Edition and Premium content, including black & white comic pages, inked illustrations, written lore works, world maps, and future limited-time merchandise promotions. This tier will also include all rewards from the lower tiers.

For those looking for commission opportunities, I will offer a $20 tier that includes special commission offers, first dibs on character adoptions, Your-Character-Here promotions, and the ability to suggest scenarios for future short comics.

Lastly, I will add a $50 tier for those who wish to donate more. This tier will include all rewards from the lower tiers and my undying gratitude!

As for the monthly illustration poll, it will be changing as well. Patrons at the $3 and higher tiers can vote; the higher your pledge, the more your vote is worth.

Summary of the changes:

  • $1 tip jar tier
  • $3 and $5 tiers: essentially unchanged, with the short comic access remaining with the $3 tier and main comic remaining with the $5 tier
  • $7 tier: works-in-progress and random sketches, high res copies of pinups, ability to vote in pinup polls, timelapses of my art
  • $10 tier: Premium content, access to all rewards from lower tiers
  • $20 tier: special commission offers, first dibs on character adoptions, ability to suggest scenarios for future short comics
  • $50 tier: access to all rewards from lower tiers and my undying gratitude

These will all get fancy and kinky Spellbound names as we get closer to launch.

I will also be packing up the MEGA archive of the Legacy rewards from past years. 2021 to 2017. I want to upload these older images, like the High-Res options from previous years, to sites like GumRoad and Cubrush to help with my revenue. So download them while you can! See the Archive tag.

And finally, you'll see some new Patreon Goals around finally getting a website and print store, you know, the things I always mention and never get around to. Let's make them attainable goals!

As mentioned, my target for these changes is February, early February, if everything goes smoothly. Ensure all the back-end work is taken care of here and on the discord server.

These changes are significant, but it's time to make room for my growth as an artist and prepare for future growth. Spellbound has been and will continue to be a labor of love regardless of how successful it is financially. I want it to remain accessible for you, the true fans and supporters of my work, and continue creating the content you all love. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support.
