Update on the platform switch (Patreon)
Content
Alright, guys. Based on the current votes and from what I've seen in my research, SubscribeStar seems like the way to go. They have direct transactions, so no moral middleman to worry about, and a good deal all around. Plus, they also have features that would allow me to finally do commissions without having to set up a third site, which is neat.
Here's how it's gonna work:
1) SubscribeStar will replace Patreon as my main subscription platform. All the stuff like request weeks and commissions are gonna happen over there; the prices and tiers will be kept the same. I'll also make sure to copy all my content from here to there as a zip file or something like that.
2) Itch.Io will replace Gumroad as my storefront platform. All the comics and products will be moved there once everything is set up. All releases from now on will available on Itch.Io exclusively.
The only cons for SubscribeStar are:
- Unresponsive support from the team
- Some creators have reported that it takes really long to have your account reviewed and approved. (It took Patreon a few days to approve mine, so I don't really care how long it takes as long it gets approved)
- I've read that some users have experienced an issue where their cards keep getting rejected. Apparently, it can be fixed, but you have to be very persistent with your emails for the team to answer. I'm gonna leave a reddit thread down below in case you ever need it.

I'm gonna try to get everything set up as soon as possible. I have a lot of work to do, so wish me luck.
