January Oneshot (MHA vs HxH) (Patreon)

With January's Oneshot, we have some friendly(?) competition between the cast of MHA and HxH. This is my first time drawing MHA in a good bit, so it was nice to get back to.

Starting off, we have a battle between protagonists, with Gon taking the upper-hand over Deku to bring an early lead to his group. Following up, Killua takes on Ochako. Although Killua is able to easily dominate, the ease of his victory is boring for him, and he chooses to forfeit, leading to MHA evening things up at 1-1.

Bisky quickly brings the lead back for HxH, putting the Brat Bakugou in his place, only for Kurapika to fall short in his matchup, ending up trapped to the floor in ice thanks to Todoroki's immense power. Perhaps it was simply a bad matchup for him. Or who knows, maybe he just likes getting put on the bottom.

with things evened back up, Toga is able to take the final lead for MHA, using her trickery and unique powers to surprise and trap Machi with her own wire, undoubtedly having some fun with her.

And so with that, MHA takes a contentious lead in this competition. But it was a tough one, and could have gone either way.

With the permission of the person who's Oneshot idea this was, I drew it in a Manga-style rather than my usual coloured style. I am admittedly a little inexperienced with the style, having only drawn in it a few times before. But I hope with more time and practice, I can evolve my ability in the style and continue to grow my competence with it.
