If you check out the deviantArt upload of this, you'll notice that I finally found a (non-painful) way of adding subtitles to videos! Vegas Pro doesn't have the ability to add automatic subtitles (to my knowledge?), so this is instead accomplished in kdenlive. Add a solid-color background, export as mp4, import to Vegas, chromakey it out. Easy enough. It isn't entirely accurate (I'd say 90%), but I can touch up any errors easily enough. Probably expect the visual-card-thing to change in the near-future.
