Gigantic moves with character arcs this week! I felt so optimistic throughout the first couple episodes following the Aang-gang trying to find Appa, only for the end of the season to leave me feeling hopeless and uncertain. Enjoy :)

Rhetorical Thrill

I've seen the whole series multiple times, and it still boggles my mind how there are so many amazing moments, both quiet and bombastic, in this show. Everything about it is just amazing. One of the greatest shows (NOT animated, greatest full stop) of all time.

It's important in the context of Zuko's character that he is roughly 16-17 years old at this point, and he had spent all of his teenage years dreaming about being welcomed back home. In his mind, he was the one who was wrong and only his family could restore his honor. The poor boy was presented with getting what he always wanted at the cost of his own heart & soul.
