Just wow! Oddly enough this film didn't feel as dark as the last one, yet the final act of this installment really blew my socks off. This series now officially has me on the edge of my seat. Enjoy :)

Funny you should mention Dumbledore's "DID YA PUT YAH NAME IN DA GOLBET OF FIYAH?" when in the book it is clearly stated "Dumbledoe asked CALMLY". Just one example of how film Dumbledore is very different from book Dumbledore AND how Michael Gambon's Dumbledore is different from Richard Harris' Dumbledore. The film doesn't really explain why Harry's and Voldemort's wands connected or what exactly happened. It's because they both have wands with a core made from a feather from Fawkes. The Priori Incantatem (previous spell) effect can spontaneously occur when such 'brother wands' get locked together. If one is able to overpower the other, the latter wand is forced to repeat echoes of the last spells that it cast; like ghosts of people killed by the Killing Curse. As always there's a lot in the book that is not in the film (apparently they were thinking of splitting this to two parts) but I'm okay with most of it. What I miss the most is actually a subplot involving Hermione forming S.P.E.W. (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare), a group to liberate Hogwarts' enslaved house-elves. Winky the house-elf who serves the Crouch family is an important character in the book. Dobby too, he gives Harry the Gillyweed instead of Neville. There is also a plot point in the book that has Rita Skeeter being discovered as an unregistered Animagus (someone who can shape-shift into an animal) and Hermione blackmailing her into not writing for a year. The tongue thing done by Barty Crouch Jr. was not in the book and was improvised by David Tennant. Brendan Gleeson then added the quirk to a few of his scenes as a hint to his real identity. Although it is not explained in the movie, Fleur Delacour is described as part Veela in the books. Veelas in the Potterverse are magical nymph-like beings that have the ability to charm men. Fleur actually has a strand of her Veela grandmother's hair as the core of her wand. Victor Krum is under the Imperius Curse (one of the three unforgivable curses) in the maze, that's why his eyes are like that. The victim basically has no control over their actions and is obedient to whomever casted the spell (in this case Barty Crouch Jr). They are placed in a calm, trance-like state in which all feeling of responsibility and anxiety was vanished, similar to hypnosis. In the book, Harry and Cedric are tied for first place, but with Cedric dead, Harry is declared the winner. He is rewarded with a large sum of money, but struck with immense guilt over Cedric's death he offers it to Cedric's parents, who politely decline. He gives the money to the Weasley twins instead who use it to open a joke shop. Lastly, Cedric's dad's cries are absolutely heartbreaking. That actor did a phenomenal job portraying a father who just lost his son.

I always think Harry is an idiot for putting sirus' name on the envelope. they should use a code name

The books explain that Ron's insecurity stems from having 5 well-known and accomplished brothers, only to accidentally make friends with the most famous wizard in their world. And as they go through puberty, Ron MOSTLY handles this well lmao. He and Ron can def fight and make up like brothers do, ferociously and then with quick resolution.
