I absolutely adore the message behind this film and how it perfectly encapsulates the love a parent has for their child. Also the Aussie representation was something I didn't know I needed. Enjoy :)

This is my favorite Pixar ! 😄 I even got a tattoo of Dory, Nemo and Marlin.

Liam

This is my favourite Pixar film ever since I watched it when I was little its always made me want to go to Australia just to see the different types of fish. I love the amount of animated films you are watching at the moment they are my favourite reactions.

Jim Schmitz

I couldn't help getting the impression you might live near Sydney. Loving your reactions to Pixar/Disney. Now of course you'll need to check out "Finding Dory". And also "Little Mermaid" for more sentient seafood.

Emma Lechowicz

If u loved this movie I would also recommend ,,finding dory” I love her character and u will get to see more of her struggles with short term memory loss

Franzi Ba98

Oh i love this movie! Nemo...

Teej

Love this movie so much! I remember seeing it with my grandmother when I was very little.

Teej

One little tidbit that I love… They named the shark, Bruce, after the mechanical great white used in the movie Jaws. A fun little Easter egg.

Teej

Another little tidbit is the actor who does the voice for Crush the turtle is also the director and writer of the film.

Sofia W

Kinda get the whole aussie-representation. Being from Denmark, I always become soo giddy whenever scandinavia or anything danish is mentioned in media. Whenever I see anything with Mads Mikkelsen I can’t get over the very “danish accent” we get when talking english haha 😁 lovely reaction!

Kitty Underwood

There's a series on YouTube called cinema therapy and it's just two buddies, one a therapist and one s director, talking about movies and the different lessons they teach. Their video on this movie is about helicopter parenting, but I'm childfree and it still helped me in other ways. Def recommend checking it out. They also did a video on Zuko from atla

Raquel Perodin

Oooo what an awesome surprise. This movie has so many great and quotable moments .

Radar

You should waych Lego Batman or Finding Dory!

Lauren

I find it so funny that the sharks scared you. When I was little, my brother LOVED Bruce. He would make my mum or dad rewind it just to get the scare over and over. Finding Nemo is one of my favourite films ever. So happy you reacted to it!

Kim McSharry

This is one of my favorite Pixar films. I like to use the "Just keep swimming" song as motivation if I feel stuck. Please watch Finding Dory!

azulaghoul

im actually shocked you've never see THE iconic Pixar lamp opening yet lol

azulaghoul

also I never noticed the seahorse slapped his kid for no reason 😭

Sarah

The one they did on Uncle Iroh a bit later is also definitely worth giving a watch!

Samuel

Such a beautiful movie, both visually and storywise. For sure one of my faves. Also just love Dory so much xD Definitely do react to Finding Dory!

Kitty Underwood

Yes absolutely, honestly all of their videos are worth watching lol. Extremely wholesome channel

I think there's no overstating the worldwide grip this movie had on audiences when it came out. For all of Pixar's success at this point, hit after hit, Finding Nemo might have been their magnum opus---at least back then. Perhaps there's still room to argue this status, but between Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Incredibles, and Ratatouille, it's just about impossible for me to pick! God this movie was so popular, I still remember the McDonalds happy meal toys :) It's crazy but I think to this day, it's the best selling DVD of all time. I just remember seeing it on the shelves everywhere!

Thalassophobia: intense fear of deep bodies of water. I think that's what you meant when you saw the dropoff.

Lia

I think this is probably my favorite Pixar movie... I've watched it so many times that it almost loses its impact sometimes, but seeing it through a first-timer was exceptionally moving. I'm so so glad you loved it.

This is the movie that made me change career paths. Within the first five minutes I knew I wanted to work in the film industry. It was an absolute joy watching this again and seeing your reaction to it. I love that you have a knack for blurting out exactly what a character is going to say in the moment! Ha-ha. And, yes, the music is incredible. Someone probably already mentioned this, but that's Thomas Newman composing. He also did the scores for WALL-E, Revolutionary Road, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and Elemental, amongst many, many others. He's been my favorite composer since Finding Nemo was released and is one of the few people who's music alone can make me tear up. Anyway, love your reviews. Looking forward to seeing whatever else you put out!

Kellie Been

Remember when reports were coming out that kids were flushing their fish down the toilet to "get them back to the ocean"? Heh. But, yeah, this movie was huge. You couldn't turn your head without hearing about it or seeing something regarding it. Good times.

Anna H

That's incredibly special, thank you for sharing 🥹 My career timeline has been all over the place, but I did feel an undeniably huge pull towards the animation industry specifically during this time. And I'm very pleased that over the years, I've become excellent at guessing Thomas Newman's work before I see him in the credits! He really does have a certain style. This score is unmatched, I'm forever in awe of how "underwater" the whole sound feels. It's so beautiful.

Katie DeFonzo

Alexander Gould is the name of the actor who voiced Nemo. 😌He would have only been about nine years old at the time!

Rhetorical Thrill

Oh, I can't wait until you get to Finding Dory! Yes objectively Nemo is better, and it does touch a lot of the same beats, but Dory hits me on a very personal level and I love it even more than this one 💜

Kellie Been

Aww. Certainly! Glad you enjoyed reading it. That's awesome that you also felt that pull towards the industry around the same time. It was kinda Pixar's heyday, too, so I think a lot of people felt the same way. Ha-ha. Same. He does, indeed, have a very distinct style. Sometimes I look forward to a movie just because Thomas Newman did the soundtrack. XD

jenNjuice84

I remember this movie came out when we had to pay per text to talk to each other in T9 lol, so my friend who lived across the country and I synced up times in our local theaters to see it at the same time so we could chat about it as it was happening through texts. Holds a great memory for me. The movie was such a good movie then and still stands to this day!

Elaina

I loved this reaction!! Up next, finding dory 😁

Cinderkit5

I joined your patreon just to watch your full length reaction to this. I absolutely love animated movie reactions. Looking forward to more!!

Yes, the impression fish are voiced by same guy who voiced MACK, he is an actor who played the mailman in CHEERS (John Ratzenberger age 77)...Alexander Gould (now 30 yrs old and married) voiced Nemo. NOW, you MUST react to "Finding DORY"...sequel to this one. It is just as good! The Sydney Opera House is a World Treasure, not only for it's unique, gorgeous once in a life time architecture, but it is one of only a few World Class opera venues, most people in the world know Sydney Opera House, The Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, and Covent Garden in London, UK.....there are others but most anyone in the world over the age of 16 can name these. It is the same as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris...it is a symbol of the beauty, culture. and art for all of Australia. I absolutely adore how patriotic you are for Australia...it is a wonderful country!!! (If it wasn't for my health it is a bucket list destination I simply yearn to visit if I could!) Americans think of Kangaroos, Wallabies, Crocodiles, Koalas, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa the opera Diva, Sydney, the opera house there, Crocodile Dundee, Steve Irwin, his wife, and his kids. Robert looks just like Steve, it is amazing. And YOU!! BE PROUD as you can be Oscar!!!! Great review, and your reactions to this one WAS SO GOOD!!! Brian

Katelyn Halt

I love the disney pixar movie reactions!! I really really want you to watch El Dorado!!! Has AMAZING music!!

Amanda P

A whole generation of kids know P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney by heart to this day lol. I refuse to believe this came out when I was 11 🤯

Dug Swank

Google "clown fish reproduction". Marlin's relationship with Nemo is drastically different in the real world.

Dug Swank

All but 1 clownfish in a colony are male. The senior male transgenders to female if the female is lost.

Tingeling

Swede here. Nice to see fellow Scandinavians around. I can relate, I have that reaction too whenever Scandinavia/Sweden gets a mention. And Mads Mikkelsen is awesome.

Tingeling

I remember not liking this movie the first time I watched it. I think it had simply been so over-hyped that nothing could live up to it. Watched it again a few years later and I’ve loved it ever since. You should watch ”Memento”. It’s a Nolan film, so not animated, but the main character has short-term memory loss and the Nolan brothers use that to their storytelling advantage in a perfect way.

Big Bob

Fun Thing, some turtles are immun to the poison of jellyfish, and in the internet, there is the rumor they get high from that and that´s why they are eating those. And that´s because Pixar put them right next to the jellyfish in the movie. But no, it´s a coincidence and it´s just that they eat the top and not the bottom parts. But there are a few turtles that eat prefered jellyfish

Haha yea. I'm pretty sure most Americans picture the opera house in regards to Sydney. In fact, I'm pretty sure that image and the great barrier reef are the *only* things many Americans know about Australia. The third thing people would say is that Sydney is the capital which of course wouldn't be correct. This was a family favorite animated movie growing up. My brother named his first pet turtle Squirt and his second one Crush haha. You're right that this one has a special aim at parents, too. I didn't feel that as potently until rewatching as an adult.

Sarah Marion

Whenever I think of Australia in general I think of Uluru more than I think of the Opera house

Shané Kummer

I love watching this with you Oscar. My younger cousins would watch this movie on repeat when they were young. They would never say Nemo. If you said Nemo once in the house, they would repeated say Memo until. They would never say Nemo, it was always Memo. So cute. They were around 3 year to 5 years old. 😊 I thought I would share that happy memory with you
