Happy New year, everyone.  I hope you all had a safe and wonderful holiday wherever you are.

My own were spent with family -- specifically my sisters who each had the flu rampage through their households.  They each have two young girls so the sickness hit them especially hard.  I spent most of my post-Christmas being an extra sets of arms to provide cuddles and an extra set of hands to help change bedding, clean and run errands.  I'm never going to say no to baby cuddles, even if they're the snotty, boogery kind. It was nice to get out of the house, even in this miserable season of shortened days and blistering cold.

I don't like winter.  As a Canadian, that's my right.  It hits me particularly hard, stacking challenges that I could frankly do without.  Seasonal depression is a looming threat that I must always keep a weary eye out for.  It's usually not a matter of "if" but "when" it strikes.  The best medicine (for me) is to remain active, both physically and mentally.  On the latter side, I have lots to do, so that's good.  On the former, it's hard not to feel like a bit of a lump when it's -30ºC outside.  Winter's out to get me, you see.  Yes, me specifically.

I've been busy on the review front for the last couple of weeks.  The devs are off on holidays in Russia so the release schedule of "what comes next" is a bit up in the air.  I have a good idea of what the next reviews might be, but I can't be 100% certain so I've been working on several at once.  This is a sure-fire way to make sure to diffuse my efforts and keep me from getting anything finished.  Two of these are "new" ships and I've tried my hand at clearing the backlog too, working on Charleston which was first hit the live servers in November.  If I push, I'm pretty sure I could get one done over the next couple of days -- I just need to know which one that will be!

This is all while trying to catch up on all of the Wargaming stuff that happened over the holidays, including snowflakes, campaign missions, Ranked Battles and the other test ships that need to be tried out and feedback submitted.  It's more than a little overwhelming so I'm picking my battles to prevent being overwhelmed and stemming burnout.

Welp, I should get at it.  I've got a lot on my plate today and it's not getting any smaller by procrastinating here and chatting you all up.

♥  Hope you're all safe and happy.

I hear you, Miss Mouse. Winter’s also taking its toll on me. Activity helps, but a change of meds worked wonders for me this year. Looking forward to your next reviews and thoughts!
