Ugh. Let's not do any more of this secret game! It just ended up disappointing both of them, I think.

I think Emma was super sad at the end of this episode. And I feel badly for her. She really likes Dex and he's not in a one woman relationship headspace right now. Sigh.

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes because I do think a good foundation of friendship is important in my relationships but I also could never date my best friend. I’d be too afraid to risk the relationship and potentially lose them. Doesn’t stop me from rooting for it in my fiction though. I definitely think Emma and Dexter have more individual growing to do before they could ever truly be ready for each other so as much as I love their cute little moments of fun and flirting, I know them being together right now would probably be disastrous. And I think they both know it too which is why Dex says he’s not ready for a relationship and they would probably want different things out of one. It does suck that they both kinda hurt each other in this one though. Her comment about getting to know him curing her crush and his whole speech in the water. That ending scene was a bummer. Her turned away from him closed off and him regretting what he said. It does make you wonder how the rest of their holiday went since this was only day 1 of 8. Lol in the book he did leave the bathroom door open while showering on purpose 🤭
