Shameless 5X8: Uncle Carl (Patreon)

Dude. I kind of loved this episode.

The Ian stuff was great, as per usual. Big fan of this storyline for both him and Mickey. And I loved the scene at the end where Mickey shows up, apologizes for being late, and just crawls into bed with Ian.

Carl's/Chuckie's story was great as well. But honestly, I like psycho Sammi, much better than annoying Sammi. But, the whole family being pissed off when she called the cops on Carl was kind of delightful. Like, WTF Sammi? Aren't you a member of this family? We know we don't involve cops here!

But if she didn't call them, we wouldn't have gotten that awesome scene at the end, so I guess it works in my book. Lol.

I felt mostly lukewarm about the Fiona and Gus stuff, as well as the Lip and Kevin storyline, but the rest of this episode was so strong, it didn't even matter.
