OH MY GOSH I'M FINALLY IN LOS ANGELES and my brain is less mush! The trip two exta days than we expected, due to getting stuck in an ice storm in Kansas, but we're hear, and alive, and now I have internet,so I can post again! If you missed out on my roadtrip, photos are still up on instagram, and I'll be making a video of my Instagram stories, too, for you guys in case you wanted to see them!

Roadtripping across the country in cosplay was an amazing experience. It made us take our time and stop at various locations I don't think we otherwise would've taken the time for, and it kept me alert and awake, thinking up new little silly videos and keeping an eye on potential locations to shoot a photo! In other words, I did more roleplaying as Prompto than I ever thought imaginable. Despite being tired and run down (I drove the entire way with my mom in my passenger seat. Nick was in his car, driving as well), I made it my mission to still take fun photos and be happy the entire time, just like Prompto XD it was really really cool!!

Be ready to be bombarded with progress blog posts. I'm gonna break up each element of the costume and kinda explain how I did it.

Prompto's wig:

I started out with an Inigo in Pale Blonde from Arda Wigs. I probably could've gotten a better styled wig to start, but wanted the pieces long enough, so I always get longer wigs that I need, just in case. Better to not cut enough off than cut too much!

This video tutorial by Arda kinda was a game changer regarding styling more natural looks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ycw5Mc48S20

I got a spray bottle for the first time and used water to wet the hair down before I cut the fibers as shown in the video, and it made each cut smooth out SO MUCH BETTER. I used clips a little more to separate the sections before cutting. I had desired to make the wig look as natural as possible with each strand looking spikey like it is in the game, but not too over-the-top to look ridiculous, so in general this wig took quite a long time!

The wig on the wig head stand was my wig the first day and I found it 'complete' at the time. In Kansas, after being stuck in a hotel playing FFXV for a few hours, I felt Prompto's 'woop' needed to be a little shorter so it say more on top of my head. So the last photo was after my last styling. Each morning I had to re-poof the woop, but otherwise despite an average of 8 hours of driving each day, this wig stuck really well!

Let me know if you have any questions!!
