If you want to see a real game example of how to use Jaina and what things you should be looking out for, I talk about some of them in this Grandmaster game that I played with Jaina!

unless you mean for VOD analysis specifically. I started doing those after some constructive feedback so it kinda happened in the middle, let me know which one you were looking for

Great gameplay as always! Just wanna add some input and also make a question. I personaly think Jaina is a really well designed hero because her gameplay is so flexible due to the nature of her spells. I tend to see the E as a killer blow spell when I can't manage to be so close to the enemy, so I tend to poke with Q and go in with E to make some massive damage when it is safe. Also the Water Elemental helps with chilling more target so once you get in for the E you can get more E's out and just kill them all literally. Once level 16 is achieved I think the E can be used before so not think of it as a killing blow/las spell but more like a mini Ring of Frost, if you manage to chill the frontline plus a squishy or something and then E them all, it does essentially the same as the Ring, not as powerful because the root is shorter but I think it is good enough to justify getting a bit more aggressive at 16. I was so afraid of Kael'thas and Li Ming, but then once I discovered the true power of Jaina I think she is one of the scariest if not the most scary mage I face against. Her damage is no joke. Now for the question for the master him self: In Braxis I was used to take both mana talents because it is such a sustain heavy battleground. I think having the globes faster, since the lane also has a globe generator, giving Jaina 10% more damage + 10% more forstbite damage with unlimited mana gives me the ability to just blast them of and also the Zerg without the worry of spamming abilities. Do you think level 1 chill for 6 seconds is so good it should matter more? Maybe because of the Ice Block since less chill time is harder to stack? Is this somewhat a lower elo strategy or you think it is doable in GM, or more like viable. Thank you for the guides <3

It's personal preference for your question, double mana talent is fine when you can get the globes quickly, because they do give you more damage as well. If you rather have the damage than the extra chill, that is fine.

Fan - How important is playing a mage w/o locked camera? Do you think playing with a free camera significantly increases your gameplay efficiency?

fanhots

Playing without locked camera generally gives you better map awareness and awareness of teamfights that are bigger than 1 screen. Playing with locked camera generally gives you better awareness of your own hero and whats happening within 1 screen. I prefer without locked camera and I just hit spacebar when I want to lock camera during moments in teamfights where I need to concentrate on my own hero, but its personal preference, both can work and there are many GMs who do both options.

Hi Fan. Thanks for all the great content! You mentioned in the video to activate icy veins before the combo because of the increased damage but icy veins doesn't buff spell power, it only reduces mana cost and CDR. Is there somewhere else I'm not thinking of where the extra damage comes from?

fanhots

I must have been thinking nanoboost in my head at that moment, you are correct. You should still activate it before the combo to get the full effects of the cdr/mana reduction is what I meant.
