Is auto attack build viable (Redemption, Ignore All Distractions, Sharpened Arrowheads) against certain team comps? Such as enemy pick Yrel as their main tank, or maybe they have artanis and muradin - both with the armor talents. I found out that if I manage to stay alive I absolutely shred Yrel/Artanis/Muradin with the auto attack build. Provided I have good positioning xD

Great guide on one of my main and favorite heroes, thank you do much Fan :) I have something to add if I may and I also have a question. First I just want to add a particular scenario I found I was playing wrongly through replay analysis. When using Dragon's Arrow ultimate, I find it very important to analyze/understand 3 things: 1) Team initiation, 2) Team Follow Up and 3) Fight status. The first two are very easy, just see if you need to be the initiator and do exacly what you said on video, send the Dragon Arrow through Fog of War so they don't see it that much. Or see if you are a Follow Up like after a Blaze stun, or a Malganis sleep for example. But my input comes from the fight state, because you should position yourself to always be straight or in line with the retreat path of your enemies. I think Dragon Arrow can be absurdly strong in this situation too, you can use it to deny the retreat of the enemy team and completely wipe them out of existence while they think they are safe to retreat. Basically, be in line with their retreat, this ensures you have walls to use W, it eases the use of your Q and Dragon Arrow, because they usually wiggle back and fourth not lateraly like you do Fan, but you are a God it doesn't count XD. Ok now to finish my question. If for some reason I find Redemption is viable in a game, why not choose Serrated Arrows at Level 7 (Armor reduction)? You find having more Ws is just better than this? Also, does Armor reduction affect percent damage? Since 99% of the time we pick redemption it will be because we want Giant Slayer at Level 16, would it affect the damage out put as well? Sorry for the long text, great video!! <3

Thanks for the guide, Fan! Few things I would like to ask/add: Iirc Giant Slayer is mathematically more damage than Pierce even on a lot of squishies if you manage to hit all scatters unless you get great corridor value (or pierce multiple heroes etc.). Would you say that the ease of execution (scatters can't be absorbed anymore before they split + random pierce/bounce value) outweigh this in an average game? I forgot where I read this, might have been on reddit ages ago, but the added AA speed with Redemption doesn't give meaningful W7 value. without it, W-AA-AA gives you another W, but with more AA speed you can't get a third auto in without having to delay casting another W (since your W gets off cooldown sometime between your second and third AA in a W-AA-AA-AA combo). Of course you'd need time aiming and a proper angle to begin with, but then it would make the added cdr even more meaningless. Would you ever consider going the armor reduction talent on 7 with Redemption to play front-to-back and just try to bully the tank/frontliner(s)? Would you rate Giant Slayer higher with Redemption since added AA speed gives more AA % dmg? And lastly you mentioned Dragon Strike as a combo piece with Entomb, but would picking it against Entomb be worth it to just drop it on the Entomb to save your teammates in the Entomb from follow-up? Or would Arrow still be better in those games. I am specifically asking since a good Leo could try to block the Arrow with his E to save his backline. Oof, wall of text bigger than I thought, thanks again for doing these guides and keeping my love for the game alive, Fan!

It can definitely win games sure, if you aren't comfortable hitting a lot of W's then you can take those but it is definitely weaker than if you were able to hit a lot of Ws with the talents in the guide.

Armor reduction does not affect percent damage, armor does not interact with % damage in any way. I go the W talents over serrated arrow because it does far more damage if you are hitting the W's over the course of a fight.

I would go pierce in most games vs squishies, if you are playing W build hanzo you are almost certainly going to get a lot of corridor value, the bounces can bounce again and they extend pretty far. I think W at 7 is far stronger than armor reduction no matter what talent is taken at 1, its just way more damage output, especially if you take a W 16 talent as well. I'd always take dragon arrow in any situation if I'm trying to win personally, I think the arrow would be more likely to save people int he entomb. If a leo can block your arrow with an E its more because its a badly placed arrow then anything else.

Yeah I didn't consider that W7 is just good no matter if AA1 gives extra synergy or not lmao. Thanks for the reply!
