Final Notice: The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator is coming! What you need to know. (Patreon)

It's that time again, game update time!

An exciting new game pack is coming on June 1st for The Sims 4, The Dream Home Decorator Pack https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/dream-home-decorator-reveal . Which means a Pre-patch will be coming tomorrow May 27th. If a pack is expected to break mods, then it’s usually the pre-patch which breaks mods and not the actual pack release. This pack is bringing a lot of changes, and while it’s possible nothing breaks there’s several features which could cause issues for your favorite modes:

• Cas changes. This includes a new way to enter cas via ui during normal gameplay, new cas items, and a cas trait category called likes/dislikes. This is likely to break at least UI mods but, in theory, the changes to cas could affect succubi too and even my mod’s sex detection (in a weird way).
• The focus of this pack are Build Buy changes and the new career centered around redecorating homes. It’s difficult to predict what this could break but it’s not impossible that a lot of cc bb items breaks this patch, it’s also possible there’s changes to how the game routes sims to add support for some new room detection system (as redecoration gigs can be limited to a single room) which could have larger implications to rabbit holes, and interaction constraints. It’s hard to predict how many mods this could affect.
• Speaking of rabbit holes, the way of depicting progress for your decorator is new, which could affect career mods.
• Finally, the aforementioned likes/dislikes system will include changes to autonomy. This could be implemented via changes to autonomy tests (which means modifying many, many interactions by maxis devs) but it could have more fundamental changes to autonomy too.

Or everything could be fine. Regardless, your favorite modders will be active tomorrow for the pre-patch release hunting for changes and patching our work. Usually, we have things patched within hours, or on the same day. However, sometimes, the changes are so fundamental that they require 1-2 days to rework systems for a hotpatch. So, to be on the safe side, if you plan on playing modded sims during this time then please Disable Automatic Game Updates in Origin and go offline. (Origin in the upper left -> application settings -> disable automatic game updates, then origin tab again and hit ‘go offline’).
