Wicked Succubi: The First True CC Occult v2.2.1 [Beta] (Patreon)
Content
Okay, so this is how we are doing it. It’s going to be so simple. You see you make your sim a succubus, then you have them go to the mirror and hit the reforge menu then you have these things called templates then you have to create a template or clone a template or assign a template then you edit the template and you can edit it in cas but like only some parts and on a mannequin then for the other parts you slide those suckers on the human form of your sim and you go to ‘edit extra parts’ and you find the cas item in the slot on your sim which you with to apply to your succubus… wait but how do you know if your cas item is in skin detail dimple right vs skin detail freckle or tattoo upper vs lower? Install sims 4 studio and learn to mod obviously then after you are adept at sims 4 studio and you copy the correct parts to the occult form then you totally delete those parts from your human form and finally you can set a custom skintone if you so choose. Oh, and the forms are stored in a custom folder in your mod folder.
FUCK ALL THAT BS
I can’t believe I ever thought the above would be intuitive. So, I’m pleased to announce the above fuckery is gone and succubi are now the first modded cc occult for the sims with a True Occult Form!
True Occult Forms, What’s different
This is an oversimplification, but there are three parts to getting a true occult form system working.
- Editing. You need to be able to edit the occult form.
- Applying. You need to apply the occult form to your sim during live gameplay and remove it during live gameplay.
- Saving/Loading. The occult form needs to persist on your sim across zones and save/load events.
I’m pleased to announce that two of these areas are done completely. You can fully edit your Succubi’s True Occult Form and save/load it with all the edits. However, I have not enabled full applying of the occult form yet for three reasons. The primary one is to reduce the number of possible causes for any bug reports on this new system. The secondary one is for the new system mentioned below, and tertiary is time. I wanted to get this new change out into your hands as soon as possible. This means that although you can change the body shape of your succubi occult form just like you would a normal sim, same with adding and removing outfits, only the cas items for the outfits will be applied to your succubi when transforming during live gameplay. But don’t worry, applying the rest of the data is coming.
This also means that the occult form data is now stored on your sim instead of in your mods folder, the confusing blend/separated and ignore/respect nudity settings are gone, multiple outfits are now supported for your succubus, and as mentioned above, you can fully edit your occult forms like you would a normal occult form in cas.
Genetic Occult Outfit, The Only Complexity
I’ve made it no secret since succubi’s first beta release that I intend to make a true occult framework for other modders so they can make true CC occults and Succubi are my testbed for such a system. As I got close to unlocking Maxis’ occult system, I realized that I didn’t really want a carbon copy of the vanilla occult system. Imagine if it were such a copy and you had horns in the hat slot, hooves in the shoe slot, and wings in the outfit top slot. If this were the case, then both Maxis and WW would just remove the outfits parts when they see fit. Like in the shower, or during sex, or the hooves when taking off the shoes on entering a house, etc. more annoyingly, you’d have to manually apply these parts to every outfit too and even then there is no guarantee that special outfits (like career outfits) would overwrite some of these parts. This isn’t really what I want, nor what I think other occult modders would want. Thus, I came up with what I’m calling the Genetic Occult Outfit (GOO). The GOO replaces your first everyday outfit, so you’ll notice when you edit your occult for the first time, their first outfit will nude. Imagine this is what you want your succubus to look like when they are completely stripped of clothing. Here’s an example of my GOO for the test succubus shown in the Title Card above:
Each part equipped on the GOO signifies something which can’t be removed from the succubus. That means she’ll always have hooves, horns, the pointy ears, and her makeup details regardless of what outfit she is wearing or her state of undress. When you apply this occult form live in game, the second outfit in everday cas will be shifted up one. So, you’ll never see the Genetic Occult Outfit during live play (unless ofc you strip your succubus completely).
A New Reforge Menu
Since all the extra parts and templates are no longer needed for Succubi, the reforge self menu has been vastly simplified. You have three options:
- Edit in CAS is straight forward. Edit the occult form in CAS like you would a normal sim. You’ll notice randomized traits and a randomized name right now but that’s okay to ignore. Otherwise edit your succubus to your intent.
- Copy Body Shape. Edit the shape of your human sim and you want the changes to be reflected when editing their occult form? Not a problem. Hitting this option will copy the body\face shape (not outfit parts) from your sim to their saved True Occult Form.
- Reset to Default. Do some major fuckery and now your succubus looks like a monster, and not in a good way? Need to delete fucking everything. Not a problem. Simply hit this option to return your occult form to its default appearance for when your sim first became a succubus.
!!!UPDATE YOUR SUCCUBUS!!!
This is very important if you are updating succubi from the old system. Because succubi were previously true occults but didn’t have a True Occult Form System, some of the old data will be stuck on your succubus. Luckily, they can be updated rather painlessly. Be sure you have testing cheats enabled (testingcheats true in the console) then shift click on your succubus, go to WP extras and then humanize them. Next, go to the computer and make them a Succubus again. This should update their internal data.
If you skip this step on an old succubus, then their new occult form will not permanently save to their occult data! So be sure to do this if updating!!!!
Some Small Changes
A few of you have experienced the LE generated from my mod’s save data not loading. This LE is annoying so I have implemented an autofix in my mod. Now in case my mod’s save data becomes corrupted, it will notify you of the corruption and auto reset the corrupted file.
A compatibility patch for those of you using the Patreon version of MCC has been included (8.0.0+).
The bug with succubi eyes becoming stuck on some occult types, especially sorcerers, has been fixed and the Succubi Occult Eyes has been made selectable in cas for your convenience.
Known Issues:
This will be resolved in the next major occult form update to this system. Until I bring body sculpt application to occult forms, your occult form and human form needs to have the same number of outfits + an extra one for the GOO. If you don’t, then this is okay. Your occult form will just apply their human outfit with their GOO applied over it like it were a special outfit such as the career outfit. If your succubus has more outfits than your human form then they simply won’t apply it right now.
This will also be resolved in the next major occult form update. While in your occult form all your outfits will look the same in the outfit selector. They aren’t actually, don’t worry.
There’s an uncommon bug that I think I fixed but it seems harmless. I plan to continue working on it if it’s not gone. Rarely, when exiting editing your occult form in cas, it’ll load into the game but you won’t be loaded into your household. Relax, breathe, don’t save. Go straight to manage worlds and then choose your household and report that it happened to me on discord so I can continue hunting this bug. You should be safe to continue playing from there.
Okay, So Where is the Update!!!
This is Beta!!! Just like the first occult form system the link is pinned in the velvet room channel on the discord. I know this isn’t the ideal way to release this update but given how successful bug hunting was when releasing succubi initially in this way and this is a new occult form system. I want to exercise extra caution in case there are any really bad bugs (like the slenderman bug in the initial system) which I missed during development/testing. Make sure to save to a new temporary save after installing this update to protect your original saves from bugs if there are any bad ones I missed. I don’t plan on their being anything that bad, but again, this is a first for the modding community and I want to take extra precautions.
If you would like to try the beta then please link your discord account to your Patreon account as shown here to gain access to the discord.
If you would rather not, then that’s fine too! I will be moving the beta release to a Patreon post for downloading (like usual) as soon as I feel it is safe enough to do so! Thank you for your understanding and patience. I also plan on this version being the first version of Succubi to go public too. I held off on making the last beta public given it’s MASSIVELY CONFUSING and temporary pseudo-occult form system. No support staff on any sims modding site should be forced to deal with that headache.
[As mentioned above, when bugs are worked out it will be brought to Patreon for Downloading. So, soon!]
