Urgent: Patch Day Survival Guide (Patreon)

Avast ye mateys there be a kraken sized patch beyond the horizon that will shiver ye timbers!  So batten down the hatches tight with Capt'n Nisa's Survival guide or prepare to visit Davey Jone's locker!

Tomorrow a modapocolypse is likely to be upon us as the pre-patch for the new sims 4 expansion hits and then maybe again when the update hits on release day.  This will likely be a big one, most of us are expecting cats & dogs levels of breaking so follow these suggestions to make sure you don't wake up to find out you've been sleeping with the fishes:

• If you plan on  playing un-modded sims when the patch and/or game update hits then go to your The Sims 4 folder and cut/paste your Mods folder to a safe location.  Then when you start to play, make sure you do so on a new save or all your mod data will be missing from your current save when you decide to add your [patched] mods back in.
• If you wish to play a modded sims while waiting for modders to patch the game the open origin, click on your profile, go to application settings, scroll down to the client update section and then turn off 'Automatic game updates' and 'Participate in Origin Client betas.'  Lastly, go to the origin tab and go offline to put origin in offline mode.  After your favorite modders have patched their mods, then go online and update the sims.
