In October 202- we did a Podcast on Reading called 'The Royal Gamble' (https://www.patreon.com/posts/podcast-planet-42484453), a reference to the club's desire to reach the Premier League and why if they didn't make it into the 2020/21 they probably wouldn't make it at all.

Fast forward nearly three years and The Royals have just been relegated to League One with the taxman chasing them and a wind up order issued.

How serious is the threat to the club's future? What it's worth? Plus, The influence of Kia Joorabchian, the women's team foreced to go part-time, the mistakes that have been made that may worryingly be repeated and the fans group who are now asking Dai Yongee to #sellbeforewedai.

I always try and look on the bright side it’s admittedly difficult but we’ve had several late payments of tax bills under Dai he’s always sorted it before. All of the massive contracts weighing us down are now gone save for Ejaria and the profit and sustainability charge we’ve been under for 3 years is now gone too so there is a chance to start again now and do things properly. How Selles and Walcott fit into that is concerning but I do believe Mark Bowen genuinely wants to do the right thing so maybe they wouldn’t be on silly money. We’ve got the spine of a good league 1 side I think but as you say we need bodies, we need to get this tax bill paid asap and do some sensible business to build a squad. I’m not against the sell before we Dai crowd at all but I’m sceptical he’s remotely moved by it
