We take a closer look at the Women's game in England but raise concerns that the FA''s plan for improving exposure for the women's game is a tick box exercise that can't fail.

We discuss the impact on the BBC and Sky television deal on resources and attendances, which aren't increasing as had been hoped. Is the TV deal hindering spectator involvement?

Who are the FA's target market for the women games?

We also discuss our own current interest in the women's game, whether we would consider going to games and the importance of next summer's European Championships which will be held in England/

Appreciate the pod guys, enjoyed it! I totally agree the international tournaments are the key hook for new viewers. As Suj said, kids and their parents should be the target market. The more kids enjoying it now should ensure a brighter future for the sport and society in general. It can only be a good thing for boys to see football as a sport everyone can enjoy, not just the boys. I watched 5 major tournaments between 2012-2017 (Olympics/Euros/World cup) and enjoyed them all, but there wasn't enough coverage of the club teams to really keep me engaged in between. That's changed since the 2019 World cup and interest should grow with every passing tournament. We'll know they've made it when they have a fantasy football game for it!
