Boltie Figurine (sample) 3D turnaround (Patreon)

WOWOW. I can’t even believe my concept is in 3D form! It feels great to actually be bringing my 2D idea into real life. Since I promised to keep you guys in the loop for this entire process, Here’s the concept art + final turnaround they just finished!

And for transparency, here’s a couple of WIP 3Ds (drawn over with edits by me) to get them to the final!

This was a lot of back and forth, and there were definitely some challenges getting the shapes I wanted. It took several days to get it to where we’re at, but after a lot of communication (& late nights since they’re based on the other side of the world) we made PROGRESS.

It was hard to remember that I was only seeing it from this one angle, so I definitely struggled going from my minds eye to 3D at times. I wanted to be very picky, but I knew that the product would come together fully at the end rather than me staring and picking apart the one angle I was looking at.

Now we’re just waiting for her to be printed and colored! I’m definitely thinking the color will make a huge difference on her, too!

I’m not sure if this process is interesting to anyone else, but I’m so happy to share it with you guys and keep you in the loop on this exciting new merch adventure I’m on.
